Arnold Schwarzenegger - a friend of my family

I got in contact with Arnold Schwarzenegger through my dad. Arnold was born in the Austrian town of Graz, as were both of my parents. My dad went to the same school as he did. Throughout all the years, they have never lost contact, not even when Schwarzenegger left for Los Angeles to become an actor. As you know, Arnold now is a world famous superstar.

A special press conference

The first contact I had with Arnold was when I talked to him on the phone. Some years later, he visited me during an ATP-tournament in Los Angeles. Not only did he watch my whole match that day - he also turned up at my press conference. Imagine what a huge surprise his appearance was for all the journalists. I will never forget this situation when he entered the room. The press conference had already started and the first questions were popping up when suddenly the door was being opened by this huge guy. I guess most of the journalists would have loved to continue the conference with him.

It is always a special feeling for me to speak to or meet Arnold. When he heard of my parents' accident, he immediately let me know that I could always call him if there was something he could do for me. Actually, it is not all that easy to get through to him. There are several bodyguards protecting him 24/7 and all his phone calls are directed to his manager first of all.
